Maddy Buckner
Maddy takes a whole-person approach to health and wellness, believing that we aren’t broken people who need fixing — we’re whole people who can make meaningful changes to enhance our well-being. She views wellness as a connection between mind, body, and spirit, and believes that changing our behaviors is one of the key ingredients to creating lasting health. Her approach focuses on understanding ourselves deeply, nurturing balance, and cultivating practices that support all parts of who we are.
Maddy holds a degree in Rehabilitation Services from Southern Illinois University Carbondale (SIU). She is a Level 2 Behavior Consultant in Illinois and earned her Health Coaching certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition (IIN). Currently, she serves as the Coordinator and Instructor of the Wellness Program at Visions LLC, where she leads adults of varying abilities through a holistic model of wellness that integrates movement, recreation, mindfulness, and meaningful connection.
Maddy became a health coach because she believes we all deserve someone to walk beside us on our journey — to offer encouragement, support, and accountability. Through her own experiences, she’s seen how caring for our wellness can transform every area of life. Her mission is to help others live more balanced, authentic lives through health, wellness, and wellness. Her approach is rooted in compassion, connection, and the belief that we all have the capacity to grow and thrive.

Dave Jaques
Dave is interested in health, wellness, and coaching both at the organizational and individual level. His academic, work, and personal experiences are relevant to both.
Dave has founded and served as the Director of several human service organizations over the course of the past several decades. He has a PhD in Organizational Leadership and is also a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA). More recently Dave has completed all requirements to be recognised as a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach (NBHWC).
Dave subscribes to the belief or tenet that good leadership involves having a mission, purpose, or value that is worth following and that from there, the leader helps inspire or guide ‘voluntary following.’ The leader can help guide a person in a desired direction but in the final analysis, it’s up to the participant to take the necessary steps to make and maintain desired behavioral change. Dave’s believes that this same leadership premise may be applied to health coaching. The coach can help participants to truly define what they want to accomplish as it relates to their health (the mission or purpose) and then co-create a path that can lead to meeting health and wellness-related goals. In the final analysis, Dave believes that regardless of assigned titles and roles that we are all both leaders and followers. Both ‘leading (setting a course) and following (being open to others and new information)’ are central to wellness.
From a health coaching perspective, two of Dave’s primary interests revolve around assisting people in finding internal or intrinsic sources of motivation and habit formation. It’s Dave’s belief that these are two key factors dor desired and sustained behavior change.
From an organizational standpoint, Dave was recently involved with several other Visions Wellness and Coaching colleagues in developing a wellness program for a large police department in Illinois. These same parties are now developing a ‘like’ program for another organization.
On a personal note, Dave is on his own ‘wellness journey.’ Over the course of the past several years he has made several adjustments to his own behavior that have led to significant improvements in his own health and wellness.
