The Shield System
The Shield System was built by a First Responder for the First Responder Community. It was developed to address the unique stressors and demands faced by first responders—those who view their work not simply as a job, but as a calling. The program creates space for honest conversation around these challenges while providing education on practical tools and available resources.
Through structured coaching and support, the Shield System helps first responders build resilience, sustainability, and long-term success. The focus extends beyond the individual to include families and, ultimately, the communities they serve—strengthening those who serve others every day.
Who is behind the Shield System?
In 2018 Michael Raynolds went and obtained his Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership. He became interested in Officer Wellness and learned about the lack of resources provided to officers. He created a program that he believed Officers would utilize. He then paired up with his sister, Ann Ramey, who has been involved in the mental health world for over two decades and they created the Shield System. Together they have trained over 300 officers and helped them obtain resources including therapy, physical health, financial health, and overall wellness.
Our goal is to grow these trainings and help organizations become healthier as they serve their first responder community. We offer organizational trainings, group coaching sessions and one on one coaching sessions.
